*I woke up one morning getting ready to pen down my drawing draft, a tiny voice within me whispered urgently:"Wait!" I stop."Don't try to make it perfect".
I often draw photorealism type of work. But a little voice begin to rebelled. "Just be you. So people in public can relate themselves to you in a real way. Make it raw and imperfect".
I was startled. It took me some minutes to reframe my line of thinking." Ah.. well... ok". It did feel a wee bit awkward and be let loose. So it began. Little did I know, it would become a long journey.
My philosophy is that women who were born here. Women who already call it home for thousands of years and women who traveled from afar generations ago and those who will soon to come... deserve recognition. They are the ones who make America as we are today. Far too often, nearly always are hidden behind men who claimed they have become successful on their own.****( this does include transgender/ Femme/ Non-Binary)****
We must stop and truly sit back then think deep. Just how it is entirely possible that our country economically and socially could have contributed greatly, far more than the state we are in today, that is if we recognize their contribution. Not only white women who happened to live in Northeast Minneapolis but we also must consider those who carries significant impact on Northeast Minneapolis for a better quality of life and generally improvement on economically and socially. I attempt to identify them in various category such as immigrants, women with disabilities, and BIPOC.
However, I have gone further. I hold my spiritual philosophy about women with equality. I do feel that if we are lucky enough to see our world where women and men are treated equally, then I do not think we would be witnessing the turmoil seen in environmental health, chaotic society, children in deprivation and all. Men are fully open to completely mesh with female energy and women meshing with male energy. No, I am not speaking of Trantic sex, but I am speaking of the openess and the willingness to fully embrace our energies and exchange completely without hesitation on compromising their gender issue. Hence, it is my belief (yes, even as a cisgender woman), members of LGBTQIA+ have much to teach us in embracing fully in male/female energies).
Only then once it is fully ingrates in our society, we would then began to live in Utopia. No more war. No more environmental abuse. No more deprived children. World rein in peaceful setting.
So there, here am I as an artist who hope to put sparks into conversation among us and a renewed hope for a better world through ingrates society for both women and men along with our wonderful community, LGBTQIA+, our healer towards integrated society.
